Corrective Drive

driver training (10)

Overview

The Corrective Drive Course is a highly focused, one-on-one training session designed specifically for high-risk drivers who need to address and eliminate unsafe driving behaviours. This course is an essential follow-up for drivers who have undergone a Driver Evaluation and require further training to enhance their skills, awareness, and adherence to road safety practices. The Corrective Drive Course not only helps drivers overcome bad habits but also ensures they are updated on the latest road laws and regulations, fostering a safer and more responsible approach to driving.

This tailored session delves into the specific areas of concern highlighted during the Driver Evaluation. Whether it’s poor hazard perception, a lack of road awareness, or skill deficits in vehicle control, the course provides practical, on-road instruction to guide the driver toward safer, more effective driving techniques. Each session is customised to the individual, focusing on the exact needs identified through the evaluation, ensuring that training is both relevant and impactful.

Upon completion of the course, the driver’s performance is thoroughly assessed, and a full written report is provided to the employer. This report outlines the driver’s progress, areas that have improved, and any remaining challenges that need further attention. Employers can use this information to make informed decisions about the driver’s readiness to continue their duties or whether additional support is needed.

The training begins with a classroom-based theory session, covering legal obligations, load restraint principles, and vehicle selection. This is followed by a hands-on practical session at the vehicle, where participants will apply what they’ve learned in real-world scenarios. By the end of the course, participants will have a thorough understanding of how to safely secure and transport loads, protecting both personnel and assets.
